Tumblr is one of the more inclusive platforms (imho) because there are literally blogs dedicated to every single possible angle of every single possible relationship of every single possible movie or television show or comic book….aaaaaand you get the point. It is also one of the best places on the internet to find amazing, well-timed,...

I love studying history, but if one thing is true, it’s that people have always been assholes to those who aren’t like them – and that doubly true for powerful people (or maybe they’re just the ones who have left most of the records). If the accounts of a man named Petrus Gonsalvus are even...

These riddles are called simple because they were solved (easily) by elementary school children. That said, they solved them far faster than any adult who has tried. So let’s see – are YOU smarter than a 5th grader? #1. The Pyramid Puzzle #2. The Parking Spot Puzzle #3. The Box of Chocolates There are 50...

Hopefully, if you clicked on this link, you have a sense of humor when it comes to God and faith and religion and all of that. Because these 12 people definitely do, and it’s funny as hell…which is where we all may end up for laughing so hard. But so be it? #12. I die....

One of the things we love about the Internet is how easy it makes it to find our little tribe in a great big world. Which goes double for those of us who are weird or struggle to find people to relate to in real life. If that applies to you, you’re going to love...

When scientists sent a robotic camera down into the Kavachi – a very active underwater volcano in the Soloman Islands – there was no way they could have prepared for what they found inside: sharks. More specifically, a Pacific sleeper shark, hammerhead sharks, and silky sharks (plus some bonus marine life) living happily inside a dangerous,...

Our homes can both shape and reflect who we are as people. When it’s a creative, the home can even influence the very work they’re remembered for. Whether its Hemingway’s Key West retreat or a clapboard farmhouse where Louisa May Alcott dreamed up her little women, seeing where authors slept and ate and rambled and...

What would you do if you were driving down the street, looked over, and saw someone’s golden retriever up on the roof of their house? If you said “stop and tell them!” then you’re not alone – but guess what? This particular golden retriever gets up on the roof on purpose (to contemplate life or...

Unlike a well lit christmas tree, some of these people probably won’t be feeling merry OR bright for at least another year…but, hey, decorations can be a challenge right? They’re time consuming, the weather doesn’t cooperate, and let’s face it – most of us don’t have the skills necessary to navigate things like ladders, rooflines,...

And you thought your commute was crowded and awful. Whatever your rush hour or push-and-shove subway or bus situation is like, I promise it has nothing on the morning commute in Tokyo, Japan. Because there, they have station employees in white gloves – dubbed oshiya, which literally means “pushers” – whose job it is to help...

Manspreaders – people (usually men) who sit with their knees spread wide open on crowded public transportation – are a menace to society. When it happens to you, you have a choice: say something or stay in your smooshed little corner and stew quietly to yourself. When Sam Saia found herself scrunched onto the edge of...

If you’ve ever been pregnant, then you’ve probably had the discussion with your partner (or other trusted confidantes) on whether to have the optional testing that reveals potential birth defects around the midway point. It’s offered (but not required) in the United States, and one of the most common defects discovered is a likelihood of...

I don’t know about you, buy I’ve always found it a bit off-putting to open a bag of cold cuts and see a rainbow shimmer on the roast beef. It makes me think there’s something wrong with it because, you know, meat shouldn’t look like an oil slick. Or should it? Turns out, that strange...

Everyone’s brain needs a little exercise now and then (always, really), so take a few minutes, read through these 5 quick riddles, and sharpen up! #1. If you had 3 sticks, how could you turn them into 4 without breaking any of them? #2. What is an item that a) the manufacturer doesn’t need, b)...

The husband and wife team behind CreativeSoul Photography are bringing attention to the amazing things that happen when black girls are allowed to wear and style their natural hair. In their series Afro Art, the photographer duo has taken inspiration from the Baroque period, and the resulting images have cast a spell on just about...
